Soothing Relief from Asthmatic Cough

Composition:

Each 10ml NESCOF-T syrup contains Ambroxol 15mg + Guaiphenesin 50mg + Terbutaline 1.25mg + Menthol 1mg

Therapeutic Action:

NESCOF-T is productive cough syrup with a combination of Ambroxol, Guaiphenesin, Terbutaline and Menthol which belongs to the class of mucolytics, expectorant, bronchodilator and soothing agent respectively.

Uses of Nescof-T:

NESCOF-T is used in the relief of cough associated with bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema, and other bronchopulmonary disorders where bronchospasm, mucous plugging and problems of expectoration co-exist.

Directions for use:

Please follow the instructions of the physician for NESCOF-T. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Side Effects:

Usually NESCOF-T is well tolerated however symptoms will subside over a period of usage. Some individuals may experience certain side effects like Tremors, Nausea, vomiting, Pain in the upper part of your abdomen, Diarrhoea, Elevation in liver enzymes, Nervousness, Headache, Anxiety, Palpitation, rapid heart rate, Shortness of breath, Chest discomfort, Weakness, flushed feeling and sweating, Anxiety, Muscle cramps, Dry mouth or throat and Dysgeusia (changed taste). Contact your physician if any of the symptoms worsen.

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of NESCOF-T in pregnant women. It should be administered with caution in pregnancy. Consult your doctor for advice.

Allergy

Do not take NESCOF-T if you are allergic to Ambroxol, Guaiphenesin, Terbutaline, Menthol or any other ingredients of this medicine.

Use in Paediatrics

Your doctor will prescribe the right dose depends on your child’s age, body weight and disease condition. Consult your doctor for advice before taking NESCOF-T.

Use in Geriatrics

NESCOF-T should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor for advice.

Others

NESCOF-T is not recommended for use if you have peptic ulcers (ulcer on the lining of stomach)

Before taking NESCOF-T, inform your doctor if you:

  • Have intolerance to fructose.
  • Have seizures or fits.
  • Have thyroid problems.
  • Have hypertension.

Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking NESCOF-T, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

  • Medicines used to treat high blood pressure (Ex. propranolol).
  • Diuretics (Ex. spironolactone).
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors used to treat depression (Ex. isocarboxazid).
  • Methyl xanthine to treat lung disorders (Ex. aminophylline).
  • Corticosteroids used to treat severe infections (Ex. deflazacort).
  • Antibiotics used to treat infections. (Ex. as ampicillin, amoxicillin, erythromycin).

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of NESCOF-T, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are abdominal pain, agitation, palpitations (being of your heartbeat), seizures/fits, hypertension, hypotension (fainting) tachycardia (increased heartbeat) nervousness, headache, tremor, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, malaise (weakness) insomnia (sleeplessness).
