DERMOFUNG OINTMENT is a combination medicine used to treat various mixed skin infections. DERMOFUNG OINTMENT minimizes symptoms of inflammation, such as redness, swelling, and itching, by acting against the mixed infection caused by pathogens. DERMOFUNG OINTMENT combines five medicines: Clobetasol, Neomycin, Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline, Ketoconazole, and Tolnaftate. Clobetasol is a potent steroid that works by inhibiting the production of chemical messengers that causes inflammation like redness, swelling and itching. Neomycin is a broad spectrum antibiotic that kills bacteria. Ketoconazole, Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline, and Tolnaftate are antifungal agents. Ketoconazole kills and stops the growth of the fungi by destroying their cell membrane, thereby treating your skin infection. Iodochlorhydroxyquinolone acts by interacting with DNA synthesis, thus killing the fungi. Tolnaftate prevents the growth of fungal cell wall.
